Project Nursery With Babyletto

I am so excited to be sharing the first portion of our nursery project. If you follow me on instagram, you know it’s been a ride. This past weekend we rearranged the room like 10 times. My husband has the patience of a saint watching water boil. I guess this is what the nesting phase everyone speaks about is like? With only 4-5 weeks left in my pregnancy, I’m glad it’s towards the end.

For our nursery, we have partnered with our friends at Babyletto. Before we jump into the actual inspo and everything, I wanted to share a bit about why I chose to reach out to Babyletto for this partnership. Over the last year and a half, we’ve been trying to make more eco-conscious choices that are also affordable. One of the issues that I’ve found with a lot of eco-friendly furniture, clothing, items, etc., is that though they’re amazing, they aren’t really accessible to everyone.

We found that with Babyletto, not only is the furniture ec0-friendly, but it’s also generally budget-friendly. Here’s a snippet from their about page that I really loved:

“Made with the safest, most renewable materials available including sustainable New Zealand Pine, lead and phthalate-free finishes, CARB II compliant MDF, and recycled cardboard packaging, Babyletto products are also created with a focus on smart convertible design and playful modern styling.

Babyletto's commitment to the earth extends beyond the factory, with solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and aggressive recycling programs at all our production and administrative facilities. A member of Million Dollar Baby Co. of brands, Babyletto is notable for its award-winning designs, commitment to sustainability, and popularity with modern families.”

Babyletto is part of a larger company mentioned above called, Million Dollar Baby Co. MDB Co shares their commitment to community (hello, my fav!), people, and the environment. So I LOVE that they are continuously working towards being more earth-friendly and bettering themselves as a company that not only serves your product needs but the needs of the community as a whole.

Here’s a snippet from their about page. Again, personally speaking, it was really important for us to make earth-friendly choices when furnishing our nursery. As earth-friendly as we can be. There are some other products that we will incorporate that don’t come from brands as eco-conscious as Babyletto, but I think it’s REALLY important to note that a small step or choice in making better choices has more of a positive impact than taking no steps at all.

So if you’re struggling with the idea that humanity as a whole needs to do better when it comes to the way we shop and consume things, but also the reality that we cannot all afford to make green choices at every crossroad, that’s okay. We are all learning and trying as we go. I absolutely encourage you to check them out. I’m a big fan of their entity as a whole and I’m so proud to be partnering with them for this. Now to the stuff you’re here for!

INSPO

Initially, this was my inspo board. We actually followed this pretty closely. The accent wall is the same color (though we might have to paint another wall. I just need one of you to tell my husband that). The furniture we chose is the exact same, and the rug is a little different. We’ll get into those details when I share the big reveal post. But for now, here are the items we chose from Babyletto.

For our crib, we went with the Sprout 4-in-1 convertible crib. It’s priced at $379 USD. Most of our aesthetic is a blend of personal random preference and mid-century modern. For the nursery, we wanted it to match what the rest of our house looks like. When searching for mid-century mod cribs, I honestly just found that most of the options were a lot more than I wanted to spend on a crib. Even though this is a partnership, it was still a lot more than I felt comfortable sharing with my community or encouraging them to spend.

Listen, I’m all about investing in quality, and if you have it, by all means. But the one thing I’ve learned as I’ve begun to make more informed choices when shopping is that monetary value often has little to do with the quality of the product.

Longevity was also a big deal for us. Do I want to have to buy something I get only a few year's uses of? Or as a consumer, would I want to invest in something that I can stretch and have as a part of our home until it actually no longer serves it’s purpose?

Ladies, gents and others, here we have longevity. So this is absolutely something we can use until our kid is a pre-teen and decides she wants an entirely new room every 2-3 years. They all do!

To accompany our crib, we opted for the matching Sprout 3-Drawer Changer Dresser with the changing tray. This piece is priced the same as the crib, $379 USD. It is SO beautiful! So SO beautiful. The quality is impressive, and if you’re a DIY’er or someone who likes to spruce things up, you can make small changes to it to make it your own. We LOVE It as is, but I might change the knobs later on. It’s also big enough where we have SO MUCH space to put in changing necessities in the top drawer along with swaddles, etc. Then clothing in the two drawers below.

So functional, and it’s the perfect size for our 10x10 space. As well as another piece that can easily transition with our child as she grows.

Lastly, seating! We’ll be spending A LOT of time in here. Between feedings, bed-time stories, staring in disbelief that we made a human and just hanging out. We’ll basically be in this chair for a while. We wanted something neutral, gorgeous and easy to clean. On top of having a baby, we also have the most drool prone, hairy, sweetest dog on the planet.

So to bring it all together we chose Babyletto’s Cali Pillowback Swivel Glider. This one is priced at $399 USD. & let me tell you, this thing is SO COMFORTABLE. I’ve got it covered right now with a sheet because I’m paranoid and don’t trust my re-arranging skills not to ruin something, lol BUT this chair is both stain-resistant and water repellent. A DREAM!

I have honestly always wanted the beautiful cream pieces you see on Pinterest and other sites, but I just never thought it’d be realistic because of babies, dogs, and life. This is so easy to clean and maintain. And again, I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH TO STRESS HOW COMFORTABLE IT IS. Yes, that’s me yelling.
